NAPAONLINE® believes in customer satisfaction. That's why we offer two options for returning items purchased online.

Within 30 days of your purchase, items can be returned to NAPAONLINE® via UPS or taken directly to a participating NAPA AUTO PARTS Store for a refund.

Either way, it's necessary to obtain a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number from NAPAONLINE®. Obtaining an RGA number ensures that the return process is handled efficiently and that credits are issued in a timely manner. Follow the links below for more details on obtaining an RGA number.

Within 30 days of receipt of items purchased from NAPAONLINE®, customers may choose to return (with no additional shipping cost):

  • Any new item in original packaging and condition.
  • Any used core, as long as it is shipped in the box that contained the new product. (What is a Core?)
  • Any item received in a damaged or defective condition.
  • Any item received in error.

Obtaining a Return Goods Authorization Number

Whether you plan to return items by shipping via UPS to NAPAONLINE® or to a NAPA AUTO PARTS store, it's necessary to obtain a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number. RGA numbers help us process returns quickly and efficiently.

Follow the steps below to obtain your RGA number:

 
 
Log in via the home page or select the "My Account" link in the Resource Center tab. From your "My NAPA Account Homepage," please select the "Order History" link. Then, select the order that contains the items you'd like to return.
 
 
From the individual "Order Summary" page, select the link that says "Click here to return items in this order."
 
 
On the order return page, you'll be asked to indicate the item you wish to return, the quantity of the items to be returned, and the reason for your return. When you're done, select "Next."
 
 
On the next page, you'll be asked to choose your method of return: either to NAPAONLINE® via UPS or to a participating NAPA AUTO PARTS Store.
 
 
On the next page, you'll receive your RGA number and further instructions. You'll need this number whether you're returning to a NAPA AUTO PARTS Store or shipping back to NAPAONLINE®. Having an RGA number will help us process your return quickly and accurately.
 
 

Returning Items to NAPAONLINE® via UPS

 
 
You have the option to return items via UPS. In order to do so, you must:

Obtain a Return Goods Authorization Number (RGA)
 
 
Contact NAPAONLINE® Customer Support
 
They will give you the following options:
 
 
a. Have the UPS shipping label mailed to you
 
 
b. Have the UPS shipping label emailed to you so you may print it.

Remember, your return items must be securely packed, preferably in the package that they arrived in. The package must have two labels attached. First is the RGA shipping label and second is the UPS (ARS) label that you will obtain from NAPAONLINE® customer support. The combination of these two labels will allow proper shipping, billing, and tracking of your return to ensure you are credited quickly and properly.
 
 

Simply take your package to any location that has regularly scheduled UPS pick-ups. You may want to check with your place of employment to see if they have regular UPS pick-ups. Or, you can call 1-800-PICK-UPS (1-800-742-5877) or visit the UPS Website.

Returning Items to a NAPA AUTO PARTS Store

Participating NAPA AUTO PARTS Stores can process returns and exchanges of NAPAONLINE® purchases. To find a participating store near you, use our Store Locator. The NAPA AUTO PARTS stores listed in the Store Locator should accept returns from NAPAONLINE® purchases, and can initiate a credit to the credit card that was used for the original online purchase.

Please note the distinction between NAPA AUTO PARTS Stores, NAPA AutoCare Centers and NAPA AutoCare Collision Centers. While NAPA AutoCare Centers and Collision Centers can service your vehicle with quality NAPA parts, participating NAPA AUTO PARTS Stores can accommodate your return requests when provided with your NAPAONLINE® invoice and Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number.

With the invoice and RGA, the store can initiate your credit process.

Credit and Return Shipping Costs

Within 15 business days of receipt of your returned item, you will be issued credit for the original purchase price and applicable sales tax. Core credits will also be processed within 15 business days.

NAPAONLINE® invoices include a pre-paid, peel-off return shipping label that should be used for all returns. If the reason for your return was caused by NAPAONLINE® or its business partners (i.e., damaged or defective items, wrong part shipped), we will cover the freight charges on the replacement items.

Returning Used Cores

If you have paid a core charge for an item purchased from NAPAONLINE®, you are eligible for core credit upon return of the old core unit. Used cores can be returned at any time provided the replacement parts were purchased at NAPAONLINE® and that they are shipped back in the box you received with the new product.

You can return used cores by shipping via UPS to NAPAONLINE® or to participating NAPA stores for refund of core charges. Either way, you must first obtain a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number. Be sure to select "used core" as the reason for your return. Then, follow the steps outlined in Returning Items to NAPAONLINE® via UPS or Returning to a NAPA AUTO PARTS Store.

To find participating NAPA stores, use our . All stores listed in the Store Locator accept used cores for parts purchased at NAPAONLINE®.

Before returning your core, be sure to drain fluids from the core and place it in a plastic bag to prevent leakage. Then pack it in the box that contained the new part you purchased from NAPAONLINE®.
