You get what you pay for. It's designed well and made of more metal than plastic. It clamps down on anything close to a standard shovel handle or the shaft of a rake... but it's not designed for a wide handled axe... The grip is nice and solid. It pops open using a one-handed squeeze. I installed these mounts on the side of a tool box using the original bolts, but added fender washers and nylock nuts on the inside of box. I added some silicone to seal and secure the base to the box. I'm using these to secure a nice heavy duty shovel that I don't want stolen.
