Recharge the safe and easy way with Smart Technology. AC Avalanche products feature SMART CLIPS™: color changing vent clips to ensure a correct refrigerant fill. When your are nearing the correct fill, the first clip will change to blue. When you have reached the correct fill, the second clip changes to green. No guesswork, and less risk of overcharging your cooling system.
0:03 – 0:07 – VO: Choose AC Avalanche for the most accurate A/C recharge.
0:09 – 0:18 – VO: Only AC Avalanche has smart technology. The new color changing vent clips indicate when the correct refrigerant fill has been reached.
0:09 – SUPER: Smart technology
0:09 – SUPER: Correct fill
0:19 – 0:33 – VO: Why smart technology? As cars have evolved, so have their A/C systems. With a traditional pressure gauge alone, some cars can be easily over or under charged, leading to system damage and expensive repairs.
0:23 – SUPER: Evaporator, Sensor Bulb, Low-Side Service Port, Compressor, Condenser, Receiver/Dryer, High-Side Service Port, Expansion Valve (TXV)
0:34 – 0:46 – VO: AC Avalanche R134A with new smart clips and pressure gauge allows you to recharge using temperature and pressure to ensure an accurate fill and prevent overcharging.
0:34 – SUPER: Recharge by TEMPERATURE & PRESSURE.
0:34 – SUPER: Prevent OVERCHARGING.
0:48 – 0:56 – VO: To use smart clips and pressure gauge, review the instructions and pressure chart on the can. Always remember to wear safety gloves and eyewear.
0:57 – SUPER: STEP 1; FIND THE LOW-SIDE SERVICE PORT
0:57 – 1:00 – VO: Step one; find the vehicle’s low-side service port. Look for a plastic cap with an “L” on it. It’s the only port the coupler will connect to.
1:07 – SUPER: STEP 2; INSERT SMAR CLIPS INTO AIR VENT
1:07 – 1:25 – VO: Step two; remove both smart clips from the cap and insert them into the center air vent. Start the engine and set the A/C to max cool and max air flow. Let the system run for several minutes to reach its maximum cooling capacity. Shake the can well.
1:25 – SUPER: STEP 3; CONNECT THE RECHARGE HOSE
1:25 – 1:40 VO: Step three; connect the recharge hose to the low-side service port by pulling back on the connector ring while pushing the coupler into place. You should feel it snap into place.
1:42 – – SUPER: STEP 4; ADD AC AVALANCHE REFRIGERANT
1:42 – 2:50 – VO: Step four; start adding refrigerant by pressing the push button and while continually sweeping the can between the twelve o’clock and three o’clock position. Add refrigerant to achieve the correct PSI level according to the pressure chart located on the back of the can. Read the pressure only when the compressor is running.
2:10 – SUPER: If the gauge pressure is not increasing, check the Smart Clips.
2:02 – 2:23 VO: If your gauge pressure is not increasing while adding refrigerant, immediately stop charging and check the smart clips to determine the correct fill. Just be careful not to add too much refrigerant. The first clip will change color to blue to show that you are nearing the correct fill. The second clip will change to green when the correct fill is reached.
2:42 – SUPER: Note: if outside temperature is above 95, only blue clip needs to change.
2:42 – 2:52 – VO: Note that if the outside ambient temperature is above 95 degrees, only the blue clip needs to change color for a sufficient charge. When you’ve reached the correct fill and the A/C is blowing cold, stop charging and remove the quick connect coupler. The recharge hose and gauge can be detached and reused as needed.
