It could happen anywhere. A thief with a power saw can slide under your car, saw off your catalytic converter, and be gone in thirty seconds. By selling your cat converter for its precious metals, the thief may stand to make a few bucks, but it will be nothing compared to what you'll have to pay to replace it. A new catalytic converter plus labor can easily cost you thousands all told. Why not nip it in the bud with the CatClamp Catalytic Converter Lock.

Built from heavy-duty metal wire, the cage of your CatClamp Catalytic Converter Lock is impervious to saws and virtually unbreakable. Depending on your make and model, the durable metal rope can loop around your converter in as many as eight different points. This system is available in a Standard model or ultra-tough MAXX model. Both options are designed for a universal fit and are compatible with pipes that measure in at 1.75" to 3" in diameter.

Where the Cat Clamp MAXX goes above and beyond is in its 100% Stainless Steel construction, not only for the wire but for both split-collars as well. Unless the would-be thief thinks your catalytic converter is made of pure gold, one sight of this lock will have them moving on to the next car. The standard model is backed by a 1-Year Warranty and the MAXX model is backed by a Lifetime Warranty.

I installed it perfectly and I think it’s a big deterrent to the low life thieves they can remove it but it takes time for sure not in a matter of 5 mins. If they saw it for sure they will think twice.

My CatClamp was delivered promptly from Napa. My mechanic installed per the instructions supplied. It looks just like the advertisement. I hope it provides the security it's suppose to.

Took a while to install, had issues with the cat and how to assemble the clamps. After a while, we figured it out. I plan on securing some more cable around the existing. Works well in my opinion!

Pretty straightforward to install once you figure it out... I'd recommend having two people, the car up on jack stands or a lift (but it is possible without if your ground clearance is high enough), and an angle grinder for removing the excess. There is a TON of extra cable, even though I looped it several times around the frame. Now we wait and see if this deters anyone.

Overall, this thing seems really solid. The brackets and cable are heavy-duty. After getting the cat stolen from one of our other cars, we installed this on a 2013 Honda CRV, because we couldn't find a skid-plate that would work for the CRV, and we wanted something more robust than a DIY steel-cable-rats-nest. Installation was pretty straightforward; most of our time was spent figuring out where on the car's undercarriage to secure the cable, then doing all the threading. Time will tell whether or not it really helps... Hopefully, any bad-guys will be deterred by the extra time it would take to cut all the cables.
