Built for racers who demand relentless output and durability under extreme conditions, the MSD 6 HVC-L with Soft Touch Rev Limiter delivers the spark energy and protection needed to stay competitive round after round.
Designed for 12 to 18 volt, negative ground systems, this ignition produces up to 550 volts primary output to the coil and 150 millijoules per spark up to 15,000 RPM with 14.4 volts. It delivers multiple sparks for 20 degrees of crankshaft rotation and accepts breaker points, amplifier, and magnetic pickup trigger inputs, while the built-in Soft Touch rev limiter helps prevent engine damage from missed shifts or overrev situations, eliminating the need for an external control. Advanced internal components, an efficient heat sink, and solid component mounting are encased in a clear epoxy potting compound with a clear base plate for quick tech inspection. Wiring is routed through a 6-pin weathertight, NASCAR-mandated Deutsch-style connector, and the unit must be used with HVC Coil PN 8250. No CARB Exemption Order Number.
