Constructed specifically for marine use, this distributor features a CNC machined billet housing and base manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminum to provide strength and eliminate porosity. The bolt-down HEI style cap is securely fastened to the base, which incorporates dual flame arrestor vents fitted with brass screens to help reduce the risk of igniting fuel vapors within the engine compartment. A dedicated Weathertight connector ensures a secure, water resistant electrical connection. The unit is UL approved and designed to meet or exceed U.S. Coast Guard marine ignition protection requirements.

Internally, a polished steel shaft treated with a QPQ coating rides on a sealed ball bearing and extended sintered bushing to maintain stability at higher RPM. A maintenance free magnetic pickup and precision reluctor provide clean, consistent trigger signals across the operating range. The adjustable mechanical advance system includes supplied springs and stop bushings for curve tuning. Advance weight pins are staked and TIG welded to the plate for durability, while the fine blanked chrome moly steel advance components receive a QPQ coating to reduce friction. Nylon pads promote smooth advance operation. The mechanical advance can be locked out for crank trigger applications, and O ring seals may be added to modified blocks to help manage oil pressure. This distributor must be paired with an MSD Ignition Control and does not accommodate a vacuum advance canister. Available in black or red finishes.
