The rotor plate is securely welded to a large-diameter, QPQ-coated steel shaft, which is supported by a sealed ball bearing at the top and an extended sintered bushing at the bottom for enhanced stability. A high-output magnetic pickup working in conjunction with a precision reluctor delivers accurate trigger signals across the RPM range without the need for periodic adjustment.

The unit includes a 0.006-inch oversized bronze gear and features an adjustable slip-collar mounting flange to accommodate variations in deck height, engine blocks, cylinder heads, or intake manifolds. An HEI-style cap and rotor are supplied. This distributor is designed for use with MSD 6, 7, 8, or 10 Series Ignition controls and does not support a vacuum advance canister. Provisions such as optional O-ring seals can assist with oil control in modified blocks, and an integrated oil passage helps improve lubrication to the distributor and cam gear.
