The oil filled metal housing stabilizes and cools the internal windings, while the alkyd tower offers high dielectric strength to help prevent carbon tracking. Most versions should be installed in an upright position, while the High Vibration Coil PN 8222, which uses an epoxy potting compound, can be mounted in any orientation.
