The air tempeature sensor measure the air temperature in the intake manifold of the engine. The air temperature in the collector is converted by the sensor into a proportional voltage and sent to the engine control unit, which processes it, also taking into account the absolute pressure of the air and the number of engine revolutions.


  • Indirect calculation of the amount of air sucked in (starting from measurements of the pressure and air temperature, RPM and engine timing), thus determining the correct fuel quantity.
  • Ensurance of optimum thermal efficiency of the engine.
  • Prevention of high fuel consumption and uncontrolled exhaust gas emission.
